Last November 5, 2025, Agroborges hosted the Cultural Fruit Growing Conference at its facilities in the Les Verdunes Industrial Estate in Les Borges Blanques. This gathering was consolidated, once again, as a key reference point for sector professionals, offering a format completely different from previous editions.
The day featured an intense agenda full of knowledge, innovation, and debate on the current challenges of fruit growing. The inauguration was carried out by Xavier Minguet Roca, manager of Agroborges, who kicked off a morning dedicated to agricultural excellence.
Technical program for fruit growing: from protection to fruit quality
The heart of the event was its comprehensive program of technical presentations, which addressed vital topics for improving production and the sustainability of crops:
- Herbicide management: the conference began with a focus on crop protection. Joan Joaquim Porqueres from Nufarm detailed the “Herbicide program in fruit trees“, and subsequently, Ramon Buira from Ascenza presented the product “Register WG, the new herbicide solution for fruit trees and almond trees“, highlighting the latest developments in weed control.
- Treatment efficacy: to optimize resources, Victor Baena from De Sangosse Ibérica shared strategies on “How to improve the efficacy of phytosanitary treatments“.
- Innovation in thinning: one of the highlights was the presentation by Dr. Estanis Torres from IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology), who explained the advancements in “Thinning of stone fruit with CATS“.
- Fertilization and quality: after the coffee break, the conference focused on nutrition. José Manuel Gamoneda from Tessenderlo Kerley linked the use of “CATS and KTS: fertilizers for fruit quality“, while Carlos Miravet from Agrozymes spoke about the rising trend of “Microorganisms in fruit tree fertilization“.
- Phytosanitary control and basic substances: disease management was addressed by Daniel Fortanet from Gowan, with the presentation of the “Integrated Management Program for Stemphylium with Blindar“. Finally, Pablo Gonzalez from Ardagri emphasized the use of “Basic substances as a phytosanitary tool“, highlighting the more sustainable options.
- Base fertilizers: the deep dive into nutrition concluded with Marta Aubeso from Delso, who described the “Quality base fertilization with compacted fertilizers“.
Closing ceremony, fellowship lunch, and networking
Following a morning full of knowledge, the fellowship lunch took place, an ideal space for networking, exchanging views, and strengthening professional ties. This gathering highlighted an edition full of learning and a focus on the future of agriculture.
